So she did a “form speech”. The same as any random Joe getting a letter in the mail that was supposedly written and signed by somebody special or important and then his or her signature was stamped. Notice this was directed to ALL HBCU colleges. She sat behind a desk and spoke to a camera rather than show up to an actual commencement ceremony. Kamala Harris did not come to North Carolina Central University’s ceremony. Sickening. Not surprising though. She didn’t go to the border either.

I am glad to see NCCU label the section of the meetings and splitting them apart into their own videos. The gentleman in the grey suit was talking sense, as if the MEAC does added 2 or 3 schools to the conference what does that look like for the current members from a financial stand point. With the addition of schools that means the conference payout will decrease and if those schools are outside of the geographical foot print of the current conference members, then you are looking at increase of travel costs in all sports. My question for the MEAC leadership is do you have a plan to increase revenue to ensure that current members will not be effected, from a financial standpoint, by the addition of more schools. To me conference payout should not decrease when additional schools are added and that any travel increases should be offset by additional revenue. The other thing I would like to know if the MEAC adds schools does that mean the MEAC can renegotiate their media contracts? The conference has given HBCU Go all secondary rights to conference games even though they don't have the capacity to show all of them. One would think that schools should have to right to take the games ESPN and HBCU Go don't show and try to get another media rights deal or deals for them. Even if the 3rd or 4th tier media rights deals will be lower, at least you would be making money off those assets that tier 1 and tier 2 don't show. WBD, which owns TNT and TBS, might be losing the NBA media rights and if they do they would be looking for other sports events to field the void. Apple and other streaming services might be looking for other sports rights, so there is path there. We know the CW was looking for sports rights and they basically end up purchasing so of those rights from HBCU Go, rather than dealing with the MEAC conference directly.

The University Bell Tower needs to feature more prominently in the university brand.

Conference USA is a FBS Football division, so NCCU moving to conference USA would require an increase in funding across all sports because of travel being more because of how spread out the conference is. I agree that the MEAC is the best conference for NCCU for right now, but what is NCCU doing to make sure that the MEAC are making the best business decisions when it comes to contracts and more specifically media contracts. I understand signing a deal with HBCU Go, but why are we giving all the rights to them, as the secondary rights holder, when they don't have the capacity to show all of our games across all sports. To me it would be wise that we should be able to shop around the the games that HBCU Go don't have the capacity to show for third media rights deal. How am I able to watch older NCCU games like from the 1980s, 1990s, etc.
